ABOUT
The Harp Frontman is an active DI Box with an effects loop, it is designed for low impedance microphones allowing the performer to sing and play harp with effects using the same microphone. The pedal has an XLR output to go to a PA and an isolated high impedance output to go to a harp or guitar amplifier. The bypass circuit features noiseless switching and LED indicators. The XLR output is driven by a balanced audio driver that is fully specified for high performance audio. The Frontman is also great for recording, providing a balanced and quiet output from the effects loop.

Why is a DI Box important? A DI Box allows for the elimination of unbalanced instrument cables which are for more susceptible to noise and are also limited in length to 20ft due to signal loss. The use of balanced XLR cables provides more options at the PA end, not limited to 20ft, are more available on stage and most importantly, are quieter. DI Boxes eliminate the possibility of ground loop hum and impedance mismatch. The addition of the Ground Lift switch adds another layer of protection against hum.

SETTINGS
There are no settings on the Harp Frontman pedal.

POWER
The Harp Frontman operates on 9 to 18 volts DC. To make it all just a little easier Lone Wolf is offering a power supply for US and EURO customers. The AC adapter requirements are 9 to 18 VDC with a minimum 100mA output and a 2.1mm x 5.5mm connector with a negative center and positive outside. The pedal is always on when the power adapter is plugged into the pedal. This pedal does not work on battery, this pedal requires the DC power adapter that is included.

REVIEWS

Jesse "El Gato" Boden writes:
"The good thing was, it sounded great just through the PA, crowd loved it. Used with Harp Delay and Harp Break and a SM 58 Beta. Never used a vocal mic for harp for more than a couple of tunes a night before, but gotta say, I'm loving this set up since I sing a lot, it allows me to go from voice to harp with just a click on the pedal and there is an underlying clarity to the tone through the PA that really compliments the fat greasy crunch that I am used to. Got some tours coming up and feel I could plug in anywhere, fly to the gig without an amp and feel confident that I will get good tone without a lot of hassle. May sell my beloved bullets and biscuits if this keeps up."
