When I decided to build rather than buy a set of speakers for my new tube stereo, I visited the Parts Express forum and did some research. My requirements included a 2-way system with strong bass and high end response, which is typical for blues, R&B, and rock listening. Someone sugested that I consider the DAYTON 8 MTM, which is a ported 8" midrange woofer - tweeter - 8" midrange woofer design with a fairly small footprint. In the beginning, I thought I was going to have to spend a good bit on the speakers, but that was not the case with the Dayton. I was able to build a truly high quality set of speakers for a very reasonable price. I could go on and on about how they sound, but I will only say that I do not think I could have picked a better-sounding design.
